Cavitus ultrasonic foam control systems are designed to reduce production problems associated with foaming in canning and bottling lines. The patented sonotrode generates ultrasonic waves that destroy the surface tension of the foam bubbles. This causes the bubbles to collapse (implosion). Foam control in the beverage industry is achieved by reducing or compressing the foam protruding over the top of the can or bottle below its rim. By defoaming the headspace with ultrasound, savings can be achieved in the filling line.

  • The yield can be increased as the foam no longer overflows and is lost as waste.
  • The line speed can be increased, although this may be limited by the extent of foam formation at higher speeds.
  • Filling temperatures can be increased as the degree of foaming is under control even at higher filling temperatures.
  • Rejects can be reduced by standardizing the filling quantities, as losses due to over-foaming no longer occur to the same extent

We supply you with the complete system of the ultrasonic defoaming unit with a CE-certified control cabinet for installation on the filling line or individual components for integration into an existing filling line. We ensure that the components are of the highest quality so that the system can achieve consistently good results over a long period of time. The ultrasonic converter can be supplied in two versions. The self-cooled version does not require any additional air for cooling and has the advantage of being installed without great effort and operated without any cooling air consumption. In contrast, the converter of the air-cooled version is considerably smaller, but requires a cooling air supply of approx. 30 l/min, which is monitored accordingly. The sonotrode of both variants is identical and can be interchanged.

We also have a aseptic version in our range (only available with air cooling)

Self-cooled defoaming unit FCS‑2

The self-cooled defoaming unit is very easy to install. The ultrasound generating sonotrode head must be placed approx. 15 mm above the containers and the 10 m long high-frequency must be routed to the control cabinet. The control cabinet itself can either be mounted on the stand or on the wall. The power requirement is approx. 150W.

Air-cooled defoaming unit FCS‑1

The air-cooled defoaming unit is easy to install and requires a cooling air connection. The ultrasound generating sonotrode head must be placed approx. 15 mm above the container. The unit is more compact than the self-cooled unit. The 15 m long high-frequency cable and the two air hoses must be routed to the control cabinet. The control cabinet itself can either be mounted on the stand or on the wall. Cooling air must be supplied to the control cabinet and requires approx. 30 l/min. Furthermore, a power requirement of approx. 150W is necessary.

Aseptic air-cooled defoaming unit AFCS‑1

Only the air-cooled unit is available in the aseptic version. The standard air-cooled unit is packaged in an aseptic tube. The control cabinet is the same as for the air-cooled unit.
